G. Test Construction: Creating Parallel Forms
In this section, we discuss how to use IRT for test construction. As mentioned in the Introduction section of this tutorial, IRT methods have several advantages over CTT methods (i.e., parameter invariance, conditional errors of measurement, etc.). Researchers and practitioners can utilize these advantages to achieve greater flexibility in designing test(s) with desired psychometric properties.
This section of the tutorial is divided into three subsections:
- Test Development Using Classical Test Theory
- Test Development Using IRT
- Creating Parallel Forms Using IRT
Each subsection contains example files available for download. You must create a folder labeled "Test construction" in your IRT tutorial directory.
